Corn Bread the Real Thing

 Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
½ cup corn mash (this is much thicker than cornmeal in consistency)
1/2 cup white sugar
¼ cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1 cup milk – any % will do why I have even used Almond milk go figure
1/3 cup corn oil

* Look below at the picture See the difference in the cornmeal and the corn mash. One is more coarse

Preheat oven to 400 degrees – every oven is different mine I do 350 or the bottom gets to brown look at the edges of the cornbread at the bottom. It was still deeelicious. Spray or lightly grease a 9 inch square/round cake pan.

In a large bowl combine flour, cornmeal, corn-mash, sugar, salt and baking powder

Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil until well combined.

Pour batter into your greasy pan. This pan I added jalapeno's for heat. Yes yes yes that is another recipe just wanted you to see how much to pour into your pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool on a rack.

This is a sturdy bread and can be cut warm. Could not wait.  Shhhh

A little butter anyone?

Linda stop drooling !
